pizza

salam.....
Last weekend I buat pizza...hmmm.......rasanya dah lama benar I tak buat pizza...so sesekali buat macam sedap gitu.....:). Resepi crust I ambil from 'allrecipes'.....and for topping tu biasalah...ikut citarasa sendiri.....
Kalau nak tahu...for me, 'allrecipes' website ni.. memang dah macam my food dictionary. Kalau nak masak apa2 western food mesti rujuk kat situ. Minat mula2 nak cuba masak western pun timbul masa I terjumpa this website which I think around 5-6 years ago.....:)

Pizza Crust

Ingredients

  • 1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1 cup warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
  • 2 1/2 cups bread flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C). In a medium bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let stand until creamy, about 10 minutes.
  2. Stir in flour, salt and oil. Beat until smooth. Let rest for 5 minutes.
  3. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and pat or roll into a round. Transfer crust to a lightly greased pizza pan or baker's peel dusted with cornmeal. Spread with desired toppings and bake in preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown. Let baked pizza cool for 5 minutes before serving.

  • 1 teaspoon bread softener (optional)
  • 5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup margarine, melted
  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, warm milk, water, sugar and salt. Remove from heat, and mix in the eggs and yeast.
  2. Measure flour into a large bowl. Make a well in the flour, and pour milk mixture into it. Do not stir. Cover with a lid, and let stand for 20 to 30 minutes.
  3. Pour melted margarine into flour, and mix well. Add more flour if too sticky. Knead lightly. Cover, and let rise for 20 to 30 minutes.
  4. Shape the dough into rolls, and place on a baking sheet. Let rise again for 20 to 30 minutes.
  5. Bake rolls in a preheated 400 degrees F (205 degrees C) oven for 15 minutes, or until done.

Penne Olio with beef bacon

3rd, 4th & 5th lessons

Salam everybody, it's been quite a while I've been dumping this blog due to my very busy schedule...hehehe..macam business woman aje....
Anyway even though I'm busy, I still have to go for my baking lesson which I love so much...and today I'll show you what I've learned on my three lessons.

On my 3rd lesson we learned how to bake and make coffee rolls and...yes....I manage to do it without any disaster and to date I've make about 10 rolls of those and got a thumb-up from my family and extended family...kembang sekejap....hehehe ( cake picture was at the top)

On my 4th lesson we learned to bake muffins, cupcakes and fruit cake. At first when I heard that we're going to bake muffin and cupcake, I was like " oh my...I've bake this for so many times and why must I learn to bake it....it's like I'm a pro what...." wah..macam betul gitu.... BUT....when my Cikgu show us how to mix it, how to bake it and how we know when we should take our muffin out of the oven.....then I realize that I'm far cry from being a pro and not even an amateur and believe me...the muffins that we make were much more better than those from the bakery.

My pandan muffins...

And this is my fruit cake.......

So yesterday on my 5th lesson, we bake party cake.......

2nd lesson - Pandan chiffon cake

Salam blogger, last Wednesday on my 2nd baking lesson, we were taught on how to make a good chiffon cake. Actually for me, I've always thought that it is almost impossible for me to ever bake a chiffon cake after two failed attempt. I've even tried 'ready mix' from popular brand but never succeed as the cake would always turn into kuih bingka....hehehe.
After showing us the demo, we got to do it ourselves in a group of three and you know how kecoh was it bila dah bergotong royong ni...but it was fun even though I've just got to know them...:) After 'post mortem' by Cikgu Siti Mastura, my cake was so ugly with big air holes all over so are the others but not all though. So yesterday dengan semangat yang sangat berkobar-kobar, I pun buatlah sendiri and the result...........

Yeay......my very first chiffon cake....but there's still have some small air hole though...other than that, it was sooo soft, fluffy and spongy....:) I've to practise more so my cake will be like cikgu's which is so fine and gebu but personally, I think for a first timer like me to achieve baking chiffon cake for the first time without any disaster was good enough....thanks cikgu...next Tuesday I'll bake again and bring it to class for your review.

**PS: My marble cake got a very good review from Cikgu.....:)

Sloppy joes & Fries

After serving rice dish for the past 3 days, everyone just want to eat something else so yesterday I served a very simple meal for them. Sloppy joes and fries...senangkan?.....Actually it's not difficult to satisfy them but it is always me. I always cooked on what I crave to eat and if I don't feel like eating, then only I'll ask them what they want to eat on that particular day....jahat kan I....hehehe....tapi tak pe, sebab they all always like whatever yang I masak.....
