Bread Pudding
If you just don't know what to do with your 3 - 4 days old bread..then this is a very good recipe to make good of the bread before it goes stale....and you can eat it on its own or serve it with vanilla ice-cream....mmmm..yum yum.....
Ingredients:
8 slices bread
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 cups raisins (optional)
4 eggs, beaten
2 cups milk
3/4 cups white sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 deg.F (175 deg.C). Grease a 8' baking pan.
2. Cut the bread into small cubes and put it in the baking pan. Drizzle melted butter over the bread. If desired sprinkle with raisins.
3. In a medium mixing bowl, combined eggs, milk, sugar,cinnamon & vanilla. beat until well mixed. pour over and slightly push down with a fork until bread is covered and soaking up the egg mixture. Let it stand for 10 minutes.
4. bake in preheat oven for 40 - 45 mins.
